Microneedling
Aftercare Instructions
Be gentle to the treated area. The microchannels stay open in your skin for about 2 hours after treatment. Do not put anything on your skin during this time. After two hours apply sunscreen (unless it’s dark out). You can apply makeup at this time. We recommend mineral makeup.
For the first several days avoid direct sun exposure. Apply sunscreen daily, even indoors. Remember – if there’s enough UV light for plants to grow inside there is enough UV light to be damaging your skin!
We recommend Epionce Daily Tint SPF 50, iS Clinical Eclipse SPF 50 or Lira Solar Shield Oil Free SPF 30. Reapply every one to two hours if outside.
Clean your makeup brushes before using them.
Clean anything that comes in contact with your face or treated area like glasses, cellphone, etc. with rubbing alcohol before they touch the treated area.
Change your pillowcase before bed tonight.
Don’t wear any hats that aren’t clean for the rest of the day (if your face was treated). You can spray the inner rim with rubbing alcohol if you plan to wear a hat.
Avoid heat, saunas, hot tubs, and sweaty activity for 48-72 hours. This includes exercise.
Skin may appear red, swollen, and have a sunburn sensation, this is normal. It should subside within a day or so. You can apply a cold compress or ice pack wrapped in a cloth to the area if desired.
If you feel itchy it may help to take an antihistamine like Zyrtec, Claritin or Benadryl, do not scratch at the treated area.
Products to Apply After Treatment
Use the products in the aftercare kit following the included instructions. Use these products for 48-72 hours. If you are having a series of treatments, these products should last you through the series.
You might feel dry or tight for a few days after the treatment. Reapply a gentle moisturizer as needed.
After 48-72 hours, you can transition back to your normal skin care routine if your skin is feeling back to normal, however don’t use anything harsh or exfoliating like scrubs, acids like AHAs or salicylic for 5-7 days. If your skin feels back to normal after 5-7 days, you can add these things back into your routine.
